Experimental Programming with openFrameworks
Workshop by Chris Sugrue (US) and Damian Stewart (NZ)

Part 1: .HBC: January 31, 2010, 14:00 to 15:30.
Part 2: .HBC: February 1, 2010, 14:00 to 18:00.

This is the first ever Berlin workshop on ‘openFrameworks’ ** , a cross-platform C++ library for creative coding. An ideal opportunity to experiment with building new systems for interactions that move away from the screen and into physical space. This workshop is devised for artists, designers and hackers alike. Day 1 will introduce participants to the library and cover the fundamentals of computer visuals, signal processing and physical interfaces. On Day 2, participants will work on individual prototypes based on these approaches.

OpenFrameworks @ NYC Resistor, February 6th, 2010
--------------------------------------------------------

I (zach lieberman) will be teaching an intro to openframeworks workshop with the NYC Resistor folks - in February.  This workshop is designed to be a gentle but thorough introduction to OF.  Since it will take place at NYC resistor, we'll also take an in depth look at firmata and OF / arudino / hardware communication.

For those looking for an intro workshop in NYC, this is a good opportunity - so hope you can make it out!

OpenFrameworks NYC Knitting Circle / Potluck, January 30th
--------------------------------------------------------

It proved a bit tricky to host knitting circles in the winter and over the holidays, but we'd like to get back into the swing of things and start 2010 right with the regular meet up / get together of like minded hackers.   So, on January 30th from 12-6pm we're going to have another OF knitting circle in new york.  Same as last time, it will be a potluck style get together.   The last one was pretty fun and everyone brought surprisingly good food:

If you've never been, the knitting circles are informal get-togethers where folks can plug in their laptops and share what they are working on or thinking about, and just experiment.  Really nice connections are always formed.
