==========================================================

Greetings!

Hope everyone is having a good winter.  Thanks again for your interest in openframeworks!

Here's some upcoming talks / events / things to know about:

------------------------------

---
OpenFrameworks @ Adobeusergroupxl  (Amsterdam, Dec 3rd)
---------------------------------

Theo, Arturo and I (zach) will be speaking about openframeworks, past, present and future at the Adobe User Group tomorrow, Dec 3rd,  at 3pm in Amsterdam:

http://www.adobeusergroupxl.nl/

we'll be sharing the hour with the amazing Ralph Hauwert (www.unitzeroone.com), and there are many other great speakers coming, so it should be really special.  If you are in .nl, hope to meet you there !

We're going to spend some time after the conference hacking on the core of openframeworks, putting some much needed time and love into the codebase and documentation, and we'll definitely be keeping you informed of our progress.

---------------------------------
Rui Madeira talk about OF @ CODEBITS (Lisbon, Dec 3rd)
---------------------------------

On the same day (!), Rui Madiera will be talking about openframeworks at Codebits:

http://codebits.eu/

Definitely check that out if you are in Lisbon.   It looks like an amazing conference.

---------------------------------
Making Things Move / Openframeworks @ Fabrica (Treviso, Italy, Dec 10-15)
---------------------------------

I (zach) will be giving a workshop about animation and code (based on sample code from a course I teach called makingthingsmove / makingthingsmove.org), and in addition, a gentle introduction to openframeworks from the 10th to the 15th at Fabrica:

http://www.fabrica.it/

If you are interested in participating, it's free, but you must submit a resume / CV and portfolio for selection and provide your own transportation and housing (they can help arrange this).  Please email me (zach@openframeworks.cc) if you are interested to learn more and I can put you in touch with the right people.  I think it will be really a special event and I hope folks outside of fabrica can make it as well.

---------------------------------
ITP Big Screens Show (NYC, Dec 4th)
---------------------------------

(via Elie Zananiri / silentlycrashing.net):

This Friday is the ITP Big Screens show (http://itp.nyu.edu/bigscreens2009/) and I'll be showing a piece I made with oF called Big Screams. You basically call the screen on your phone to create a character and you then have to scream to control where it goes. Lots of Box2D goodness...

Also the player used for the video pieces is made with oF. It's two client apps connecting to one server app which syncs the frame rate on all three.

If any of you are in NYC it should be a pretty cool event. Here are the details:
IAC Building
555 West 18th St, NYC
Friday, December 4 2009, 6:30-8:30pm
Please RSVP to: itp.rsvp@nyu.edu

---------------------------------
OF Newcastle meetup (Newcastle UK, Dec 4)
---------------------------------

(via dataprole)

So ofNcl has its first meeting and launch/workshop event on Friday. We are running this from CultureLab which is at Newcastle University and would love for anyone who wants to come along to join up and turn up.

We have Marek Bereza coming up to give the session which will run from 17.00 to 20.00 Friday 4th Dec.

Here is the group page: http://groups.google.co.uk/group/ofncl

Here is a map to get to us: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=Culture+Lab,+Newcastle+Upon+Tyne+NE1,+United+Kingdom&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=17.235515,46.538086&ie=UTF8&cd=1&geocode=FYzoRgMdiF7n_w&split=0&hq=&hnear=Culture+Lab&z=15

Interesting OF projects to check out:
---------------------------------

here's some projects / addons / sketches worth checking out....  there's plenty more on the openframeworks forum (openframeworks.cc/forum), and on vimeo, flickr, and youtube...

-- oflivecoding (Julien V3GA)
Livecoding is a software developped with openframeworks and based upon its ofxJavascript addon.

It allows to modify a javascript program at runtime allowing to see in real time how the modifications affect the behaviour and the flow of the executed code. The modifications in the script can be made locally or remotely, by sending a new script from a remote client computer.
